FIBA offers a variety of modular tube trailer models to accommodate numerous gas types, payloads, and pressures. All equipment is assembled to comply with the regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) with regard to Hazardous Materials Safety, Federal Motor Carrier Safety, and National Highway Traffic Safety.
We sell and lease our modular tube trailers (which have 18 to 54 tubes) to supply a variety of product volumes. Our modular tube trailer is manufactured in a patented, modular design (U.S. Patent No. 4,784,399; dated 11/15/88) to allow for the Acoustic Emission/Shearwave testing up on the chassis, thus reducing the maintenance costs at the time of retest. FIBA now holds DOT Special Permit 9847, which authorizes Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) of DOT 3A and DOT 3AA tubes. We also hold DOT permits that may qualify the 3A and 3AA conventional tubes on our modular trailer for a requalification cycle of 10 years, rather than 5. To allow AET as the requalification method, conventional tube trailer bundles (30, 38, and 49 tubes) must be re-formatted into the patented, modular design.
