FIBA Technologies’ new manufacturing facility in Trelleborg, Sweden has been awarded Certificates of Authorization by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to apply both the U and U3 certification marks.

The ASME U3 certification authorizes FIBA to design, fabricate, and stamp high-pressure vessels above 10,000 psi (690 bar).

The ASME U certification applies to pressure vessels designed and manufactured for a broad range of industrial applications under established ASME design and fabrication rules.

The Trelleborg facility has been purpose-built to support the production of advanced pressure vessels for industrial gases, energy, and emerging applications such as hydrogen storage and transport, where high-pressure performance and material integrity are critical.

FIBA’s Vice President of Quality, Sean Macomber, commented:

“Obtaining ASME U and U3 certification is a significant milestone for FIBA Sweden and a testament to the strength of our quality systems and engineering capabilities.

“The team in Trelleborg has worked diligently to implement robust manufacturing and inspection processes aligned with ASME requirements.

“With this certification, FIBA continues to expand its global manufacturing footprint and strengthens its position as a leader in the design and manufacture of high-pressure containment systems, particularly in support of the growing hydrogen economy.”
