Major energy companies continue to commit to hydrogen as a key renewable fuel, not least Chevron which has further bolstered its H2 portfolio, buying a majority stake in the Advanced Clean Energy Storage hydrogen project in Delta, Utah, US.
With this purchase Chevron’s New Energies division now has the majority interest in ACES Delta, a JV between Mitsubishi Power Americas and Magnum Development. The project is designed to use electrolysers powered by renewable energy to produce hydrogen.
The steady roll-out of hydrogen as an available and viable alternative fuel continues. With scores of hydrogen refuelling stations planned across many territories, and with their need for high pressure gas vessels for storage and transportation, the development of the global hydrogen industry is increasing worldwide.
