Every few weeks we see reports that cities across Europe are either launching their first hydrogen buses or are adding to their existing H2 transport fleet. Hydrogen buses are increasingly commonplace in urban Europe.
So this week’s news from Cologne, Germany, where Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK) is adding 18 new buses to its existing fleet of 35, came as no surprise. The buses, from Solaris, will run on 100kW fuel cells and will store the gas on their roofs.
It is clear that the demand for high pressure vessels for use at vehicle refuelling stations is continuing to grow, thanks to Europe’s continuing roll-out of public sector hydrogen transport.
