FIBA Joins the National Hydrogen Association (May 15, 2008): As a member of the National Hydrogen Association (NHA), FIBA has joined an elite group of companies working to develop a hydrogen infrastructure and technologies to reduce our country’s dependence on imported fuels, improve the environment, and drive economic growth. The NHA is the premier source for information on hydrogen and hydrogen technologies. FIBA has been a leader and innovator involved with the manufacturing and installation of alternative fuel systems for more than 30 years. Our gas containment products are manufactured for both mobile and stationary applications. Operating a state-of-the-art facility to manufacture seamless, integrally forged pressure vessels, including DOT, ISO, UN, and ASME specification, FIBA’s most recent development is a steel-lined, carbon, hoop-wrapped vessel (Type 2). This vessel was designed exclusively for the hydrogen fueling market with working pressures up to 1,000 bar and capacities up to 700 liters. FIBA continues to offer and develop the finest quality products for its customers. Click on » more... to learn more about the NHA.
FIBA Increases Production Capacity! (February 05, 2008): Due to significant increased global and domestic demand for its products, FIBA Technologies, Inc. has announced expansion of its Millbury production facilities to increase production capacity for seamless steel pressure vessels. FIBA is also taking steps to improve the flow of the manufacturing processes to streamline the operations such that efficiency is improved and lead times are reduced. FIBA has expanded its manufacturing operations to occupy an additional building on adjacent property. Furthermore, ground-breaking for an addition to its existing pressure vessel manufacturing facility is planned for early this spring. We have also secured property adjoining this facility to accommodate the storage of raw pipe materials to meet the increased production output. Additionally, FIBA has expanded some production operations to three (3) shifts. As part of this planned growth, the Principles of Lean Manufacturing, which are taught to all FIBA employees, have been implemented, resulting in a reduction of waste and costs and an increase in output and productivity. The future looks very promising for FIBA as we work diligently to meet the growing demands of our U.S. and international customers, through capacity and product line expansion and process improvements.
