FIBA Granted DOT-SP 14661 – 10-Year, AE Test (September 23, 2008): FIBA Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce that the U.S. DOT has granted to FIBA special permit DOT-SP 14661, which authorizes a 10-year requalification cycle on certain compressed gas tube trailers and ISO skid containers. This special permit requires acoustic emission testing (AET) to assess the integrity of the cylinders and tubes. AET provides a superior test method while the extended retest cycles reduce the cost of fleet operations.
FIBA Joins the National Hydrogen Association (May 15, 2008): As a member of the National Hydrogen Association (NHA), FIBA has joined an elite group of companies working to develop a hydrogen infrastructure and technologies to reduce our country’s dependence on imported fuels, improve the environment, and drive economic growth. The NHA is the premier source for information on hydrogen and hydrogen technologies. FIBA has been a leader and innovator involved with the manufacturing and installation of alternative fuel systems for more than 30 years. Our gas containment products are manufactured for both mobile and stationary applications. Operating a state-of-the-art facility to manufacture seamless, integrally forged pressure vessels, including DOT, ISO, UN, and ASME specification, FIBA’s most recent development is a steel-lined, carbon, hoop-wrapped vessel (Type 2). This vessel was designed exclusively for the hydrogen fueling market with working pressures up to 1,000 bar and capacities up to 700 liters. FIBA continues to offer and develop the finest quality products for its customers. Click on » more... to learn more about the NHA.
